The Very Jewish History of Menswear
The history of clothing in the United States is very, very Jewish. From Jacobi Press, to the history of the New York garment district, to Martin Greenfield, to Ralph Lauren, and oh so many more names. One of the most talented tailors in the country right now is an NYC Rabbi! I’d love to help tell these stories as part of a series.
Daniel Hakimi is an attorney with degrees in computer science and philosophy, but, for some reason, finds himself talking about clothes on the internet in a semi-professional capacity. He is a Persian Jew, was President of his undergraduate Hillel, and says hamotzi the way his grandfather said it.
