The Last Summer
As the summer of 1948 approached, the world’s attention was focused on the tiny land of Palestine as it pushed toward statehood. But for Yigael, a 9-year-old boy with a bushel of bright red hair living in a tiny town of Zionist settlers, the only thing he can’t wait for this summer is friends, football and fun! Based on the memoirs of my father, THE LAST SUMMER is a true story about coming of age in a tiny Jewish neighborhood of British Palestine set during the backdrop of the birth of the nation of Israel.
