Splinters
In this modern reimagining of Pride and Prejudice, 16-year-old Eden can’t wait for another summer at Camp Ahava, the beloved Jewish summer camp she’s been attending for years. But Camp Ahava is falling apart–literally–and upon arrival, its eccentric director reveals the camp will soon be sold to Camp Keshev, the elite rival camp a mile away. As the two camps merge for a kick-off dance, Eden and her best friend Julia cross paths with a pair of wealthy campers from the rival camp: the warm-hearted, affable Ben and his brooding, infuriatingly-smug friend Daniel. Eden and Daniel can’t stand one another… but as the summer goes on, they soon learn that they may have more in common than they thought. This script is a funny, heartfelt coming-of-age story about class, Jewish identity, and the power of spending a summer in a place that lets you be exactly who you are–splinters and all.
