There, she meets Lyat Rosen, the teenager leading the women in a shocking and rebellious act of resistance against their husbands — a sex strike. As the struggle becomes more personal and ulterior motives are revealed, the two women find themselves on a collision course to an act of violence that will change their lives forever. We Cancelled Mitzvah Night is a dark comedy about sisterhood, faith, and dismantling misogynistic practices through any means necessary. A marriage of Bad Sisters, Lysistrata, and Orthodox Judaism, Mitzvah Night centers an incredible community of underestimated women who won’t lie down without a fight.
